Open the FocusCap menu bar app, choose what to capture — full screen or a window — toggle your camera and microphone if you want them, and hit Start Recording. Your footage is captured locally at native speed, so even long recordings stay smooth.

Yes. The recorder has independent toggles for camera and microphone, and both stay off unless you switch them on. Your camera appears as a floating bubble you can reposition, and you can pick any input — built-in or external — from the device menus.

On the Free plan, up to 10 videos of 5 minutes each in 720p. Premium removes the video cap and extends recordings to 30 minutes in up to 1080p. Advanced gives you unlimited videos with unlimited duration, in up to 4K.

Meeting recording with AI summaries is coming soon. FocusCap will capture your meetings automatically, summarize every key point, and compile the action items for you — no manual intervention needed.

Every recording is transcribed automatically with AI as soon as it lands in your library. You edit the video by editing the text — delete the filler words ("um, so basically…") from the transcript and they disappear from the recording. Available on all plans.

Trim & Stitch lets you make every second count: cut the dead air from your footage and join multiple clips into one seamless video. Set your in and out points on the timeline, then stitch takes together without exporting through another editor.

Auto-Dub re-voices your recording in over 30 languages while keeping your pacing and tone — say "Hi, there" and your viewers can hear "¿En qué puedo ayudarte?". It's included with the Advanced plan as Voice Dub.

Premium and Advanced plans include downloads — grab your videos (and transcripts) whenever you like. Free-plan recordings can be shared by link and can always be deleted permanently.
